Assuratel provides a needed service at low cost. For some months I had an arrangement with a friend where if he did not receive a call from me each morning, he would call me and check in. Every senior citizen needs the protection that Assuratel provides. I am a single 71 year-old man, living alone, and have been worried what if something happened to me and I was unable to call for help? My friends no longer live here and my only relatives (Nieces) call me once every 10 days or so. One day something may happen to me, and instead of lying on the floor, unable to call for help, and possibly meeting my end in a most horrible way, I am assured that my daily call from Assuratel will get me help. For a very small amount, they call me every day, at exactly the same time, and make sure that I'm well. And if I'm in trouble, or unable to answer their call, I know that Assuratel will get me help. Several years ago, I found myself in somewhat of an uncomfortable position. I was living alone with very little family including no wife or children. I had one brother and one nephew who lived in different cities, and one niece who lived in the same city as me. They had extremely busy lives, and it was in my nature to be very independent. I did not talk with any of them on a regular basis, and only saw them rarely, usually on holidays. I was over seventy, had a genetic predisposition to cardiac problems and had gone through seven heart procedures over the years. As an anatomical, full-body donor to a nearby medical school, I realized I could die, and my body not be discovered for days or longer. It was time for me to take action. I had forced my mother to wear a medical alert device which saved her life for quite a few additional years. With that said, and still being so active, I didn't feel I was ready for that. What I really needed was someone just to check in on me daily by phone. I didn't want to put that responsibility on any of my family members or friends. I contracted with a company to give me a daily call at a specific time. Over the past couple of years, the quality of their service deteriorated. I found it necessary to search for an alternative. Fortunately, I found Assuratel and their service has been outstanding. Their daily check-in calls are always on time with a simple, easy to understand message. If I'm not going to be available at the specified time, one press of a key on my phone calls and checks me in for the day. I would highly recommend Assuratel and will continue using their service for as long as I have the need … wish I had found them sooner. Several years ago my daughter’s next-door neighbor who was a senior living alone died in her home. No one had made arrangements for anyone to check on her, and it was days before it was discovered she had passed away. I live alone at 75 years of age, and news of this event horrified me. My relatives all live out of town, and it was simply not possible for either of my children to call every day to check on me. I began a two-year search for a professional well-check service that would call me every day, and if I did not respond my contacts of choice would be notified within the hour. These services were few and far between, and most were restricted to a certain city or specific locale; others were horrendously expensive. I finally located a nationwide service and having found nothing more suitable, I signed up for a year. There were serious issues with this service that were never corrected, so I began looking for something better. I found Assuratel and they had my attention from jump, because they actually listened to my concerns. They also checked out other services in order to offer the best features, and asked me for suggestions to improve their service. One of my requests was the ability to check in from any phone anywhere in the country, using a PIN. (Think: Land line out of order, no cell phone service, forgot cell phone at home, natural disaster, etc., etc.) To my delight – and relief – this feature was recently added to their service. Assuratel is an excellent well-check service, and their people are top notch. They genuinely care, they’re responsive to concerns, and they continually strive to make their service better. The icing on the cake? They cost half what I paid the other business. They are a sterling company, providing an invaluable service at an incredibly reasonable price.
